Compass Box The Spice Tree is one of the company’s most celebrated whiskies, renowned for its rich and vibrant character. Classified as a blended malt, it’s crafted from a mix of distinctive single malts: 60% Clynelish, 20% Dailuaine, and 20% Teaninich. After these robust Highland whiskies are blended, they mature in Compass Box’s custom-made casks, which feature varying levels of toasting. John Glaser refers to these as “hybrid casks” because they are crafted from a combination of French and American oak. The intricate process may be meticulous, but the resulting whisky is truly exceptional. Bottled at 46% ABV, without coloring or chill filtration, The Spice Tree offers a golden hue and a nose rich with spicy aromas of dried herbs, pepper, oak, and vanilla. On the palate, it delivers a bold and spicy experience, featuring notes of ginger, toffee, black pepper, and a long, satisfying finish.
