Advantages of Merino Wool
Merino wool is a natural product and a particularly high quality form of (Virgin) wool. It is obtained from merino sheep and is characterised by its special delicacy and softness.
The main properties and advantages of Merino:
Doesn't smell (even after long wear) and therefore has to be washed less often
Is sustainable and grows back
Does not charge electrostatically (unlike synthetic materials)
Insulates well in cold and also in heat
Cools through evaporative cooling at warm temperatures
Insulates even when damp
Has a natural sun protection factor of up to 50 (depending on density and weave)
Maintains the fit without becoming misshapen
Is biodegradable (like wool in general)
