This year we decided to team up with the non-profit organization LOONO and help them raise awareness about breast cancer prevention 🍒 It is the second most common cancer for women. It affects 7,000 women annually but still only 60% of women in the Czech Republic attend mammography check-ups. What are the risk factors for breast cancer? Age over 40, breast cancer in the family, early symptoms of menstruation or late menopause, smoking, alcohol, obesity. What are the signs of a possible breast cancer? Lump in the breast (mostly painless), changes in the shape of the nipple and areola, discharge from the nipple (including bloody discharge), changes in the shape of the breast, deformation of the breast, changes in the breast skin, enlargement of the nodes in the breast area, especially in the armpit. What can you do for healthy breasts? Women 19-44 years old: 1x annual preventive gynecological examination, 1x monthly breast self-examination, 1x breast ultrasound examination every 2-3 years. Women 45+ years: 1x annual preventive gynecological examination, 1x monthly breast self-examination, 1x every 2 years mammographic screening.
