Martha's 10-year-old Tawny is a formidable port, matured in oak barrels.
The wine is 19% alcohol, and made from a blend of 6 different grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela and Tinta Roriz. With its deep classic tawny color and complex flavors of nuts and roasted aromas, the experience ends in a rich, lingering, delightful finish.
The Martha family founded their first vineyard in the Douro Valley in 1727. In the beginning, the family just grew grapes that were sold to other wine producers, but six generations ago they started the port wine production themselves. Everything from harvesting, production, bottling and commercialization they are responsible for themselves, they are what you can call a field to bottle company.
