Nestville whiskey has been repeatedly awarded the quality mark, and also received a bronze medal from the Beverage Testing Institut and a silver medal at the Sommelier Wine Challenge.
Nestville Distillery, located near the town of Stara Lubovna, famous for the art of distillation from the 18th century, was able to revive the old distilleries of Northern Spis. Already in the records of 1747, it was noted that part of the rye grown near the Lyubovna castle was transferred to the local “mountain dwellers” for the manufacture of alcohol. This was one of the main reasons why the company decided to revive the production of spirits in Nest. Alcoholic drinks made according to a unique, ancient recipe, with their high quality and flavor palette, remind of the traditions and craftsmanship of people living in this region. The company got its name as a result of the merger of the words “Nest” and “Ville” (short for “Villge”), which is translated from English as “nest” and “village” – a place that in Slovakia is called the Nest. Nestville Distillery in Gnezdnoy set up an alcohol factory, a distillery and an exhibition telling about the region’s exciting past and crafts in North Spice.
BGV Distillery , which produces ethyl alcohol in accordance with the traditional recipes of Northern Spis, was founded in 2001. The plant was built directly on the foundation of the old castle of Lubovna. The plant has the most modern and high-performance equipment, which guarantees high quality products. The BGV Distillery is one of the most modern distilleries in Central Europe with its own licensed testing laboratory for the deep chemical analysis of alcohol and spirits. Unique distillation technology, constant monitoring at every stage of production, as well as rich experience and high professionalism of employees are the key to the success and recognition of the company. In 2005, a management control system was introduced in accordance with EN ISO 9001. Among the company’s regular customers are large European distilleries, pharmaceutical and food companies, and many other industrial enterprises.
