Role background

At Wolt we’re on a mission to make cities a better place to live with the help of technology. We started in 2014 in Finland, with the customer-obsessed mindset we have now reached 23 countries with over 12M users. We are best known for our food delivery platform but are now on a journey to become an ‘’everything’’ app so you can get almost anything in your city delivered to your doorstep in less than an hour. That means expanding our business to supermarkets, flowers, toys, electronics, gifts, and other exciting products, all referred to as Retail. 

We launched in Norway in 2017 and are already operating in Oslo, Trondheim, Tromsø, Stavanger, Bergen, Sandnes, and Lillestrøm with more cities to come soon. As we expand rapidly, we're now looking for an experienced sales professional to help us build up our biggest retail partnerships in Norway.

As a Retail Sales Executive, you will build up our retail portfolio by managing your own pipeline of large retail partners from A to Z. This requires good commercial thinking to be able to identify the most appropriate retailers across various verticals and strong communication and negotiation skills to be able to show the value Wolt can bring to the retail industry.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will be working with the biggest retail chains and managing the sales process from A to Z. That means researching leads, prospecting, conducting meetings and market visits, negotiating terms, and closing deals.

  • Strategically identifying the highest potential partnerships that would enhance Wolt’s portfolio. You will use the right blend of data and logic to gauge potential retailer performance and unit economics.

  • Systematically managing the pipeline of new potential partnerships and tailoring the approach to position Wolt as a partner of choice.

  • Conducting negotiations regarding partnership terms and continuing ownership for the relationship until the retail development team steps in. Ensuring there’s an optimal product selection per each Retailer for Wolt’s platform.

  • Actively inputting on the local sales strategies to accelerate Wolt’s Retail market entry.

Our humble expectations

  • Good track record within b2b sales and working with tailored offerings to big enterprise accounts. Retail experience and network is a big advantage. 

  • You have the ability to engage with executives from big retail chains. Moreover, you are passionate about networking - you have an outgoing personality where networking and building relationships are your second nature.

  • Excellent analytical skills - such as translating data into actions, or analyzing sales metrics, commission levels, market potential, and producing relevant KPIs. 

  • A natural ‘hunter’ with a drive to build and create a retail portfolio from the ground up and find new angles to overcome different bottlenecks. You get excited about the challenge of shaping the future of how people shop.

  • Demonstrable consultative sales skills - someone that can build relationships and tailor the offering and business model to a specific partner based on various parameters.

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Fluency in Norwegian and English is a must to connect with the retail partners.
