Financial Controller, Supply Chain

Helsinki, Finland
Finance
Full-time

Are you an experienced finance professional, with a real passion for delivering exceptional service in a collaborative team? Does a comprehensive senior supply chain controller role in a global tech organization sound like your ideal next opportunity?  If so, then please read on!

Role Background

Wolt is a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. We’ve grown significantly in the last three years, expanding our operations from just four countries across the Nordics to 23 countries across Europe and Asia today.

Our Finance team has played a key role in this journey - supporting our global operations from their central Helsinki hub has been no easy feat, but this group of dedicated and motivated professionals have made it seem effortless!

As we continue to scale, we are now looking for an experienced supply chain professional to help us do so in the most efficient way. This role provides a chance to truly develop and build something new in a motivating work environment. You will be based in our Financial Controlling team but the role is cross-functional with strong ties to Procurement.

Working closely with our Procurement Team, you will be the bridge between the two teams. You will be owning our inventories end-to-end and developing supply chain processes and controls from a finance perspective. Your background and experience should make you comfortable in taking the lead and full ownership of the Supply Chain and the process development. The flow of inventory items in our bookkeeping as well as inventory levels will be your domain. The role entails defining how to track, measure and report on our supply chain performance, and hence, you should be ambitious about utilizing our new procurement module to the fullest. One key stakeholder group for this role is our Business Controlling team and you will have the required mindset towards internal reporting and our KPI’s.

This is a unique opportunity to join a  rocketship team where you are able to build new in an international team that is ambitious about contributing to our growth story. Working in a flat hierarchy environment with a very open mindset towards change and own in-house Fintech team should sound like a true inspiration to you.

What makes the Finance team so special is our ‘service first’ approach to the job - we enjoy creating strong communication loops with the wider business, so that bottlenecks are minimized and that things get done quickly and efficiently.

Everybody is accountable for their own workload and takes pride in being meticulous and precise. We also enjoy learning and developing as we go - it’s important that you share this approach! :)

What you’ll be doing:

  • As the sole owner of our supply chain financials, leading the development of our inventory processes from a Finance perspective in close collaboration with the Procurement team

  • Bridging Finance and Procurement team

  • Building inventory control processes

  • Mastering recently implemented procurement module in NetSuite and ensuring we use it to maximum potential

  • Working end-to-end with inventory management, covering the data entering bookkeeping, accounting accuracy and KPI following for internal reporting purposes

  • Inventory controlling for internal and external reporting purposes, including e.g.:

    • ensuring quality of reporting in data accuracy, inventory levels and timing

    • item profitability & mark-ups

    • system and PO maintenance

Our humble expectations

  • Degree in Finance; accounting or controlling

  • Extensive experience in Finance; FP&A / Supply Chain

  • IAS2 experience in relation to inventory management

  • Strong business controlling mindset

  • Comfortable with taking broad professional ownership and having the experience to handle the full scope this role requires

  • Hands-on and proactive team player who is eager to learn and develop

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment figuring out solutions without anyone telling you exactly what to do.
