Are you a passionate photographer looking to expand your portfolio within food photography? Does helping to scale one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups sound appealing? If so, then please read on!

Role background

So… we have built this rocketship. We call it Wolt. And we’re on a mission to make cities a better place to live with the help of technology. We started in 2014 in Finland, with the customer-obsessed mindset we have now reached 23 countries with over 12M users. We are best known for our food delivery platform but are now on a journey to become an ‘’everything’’ app so you can get almost anything in your city delivered to your doorstep in less than an hour.

We launched in Norway in 2017 and are already operating in Oslo, Trondheim, Tromsø, Stavanger, Bergen, and Sandnes with more cities to come soon. As we continue to grow, so does the number of restaurant partners therefore we are looking for a talented photographer to help us ensure that we continuously inspire our end users with mouthwatering culinary photos.

As a customer experience obsessed company, we know that visual aesthetics are one of the most important aspects for our customers when they choose what to eat. Therefore, it’s extremely important that the pictures of the dishes on our app are both high quality and aligned with the overall Wolt brand look. In order for us to keep up with the expansion, we’re looking for a talented photographer to join us in-house for a 1-year contract. There is a high likelihood to become permanent after the contract runs out.

You will be combining a passion for culinary photography, doer mentality, creativity, speed in action, and last but not least, a love for food and high-quality aesthetics!

What you’ll be doing

  • Plan, organise, and carry out culinary photo sessions with new restaurant partners.

  • Reshooting culinary photos with our existing restaurant partners that have changed menus.

  • Producing photos to support restaurant-related marketing campaigns on the platform.

  • Styling dishes and organising the sets in different restaurant venues.

  • Editing and preparing photos for publication on the platform.

Our humble expectations

  • Experience in photography. Previous background in culinary photography is a strong advantage.

  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and Norwegian to well connect with our restaurant partners when doing the photoshoots.

  • Good skills in styling for photoshoots, and editing the photos.

  • Ability to photograph people, interiors, and food.

  • Good technical knowledge about how to use light in photography.

  • Self-driven and independent with great time management skills.

  • Having a driving license is an advantage.

  • Experience in editing and shooting video materials is a plus.

  • Flexibility to travel across Norway and work in evening hours and weekends once in a while. Due to the fast-growing pace of Wolt, you might come across changing schedules.

What you will get by joining Wolt

  • Extensive experience in doing shoots in very different settings, as well as gaining extensive exposure to the culinary scene in Norway.

  • Making an impact. We are obsessed with having the ‘’best in the world’’ visual presentation of our different restaurant partners. You will play a key role in Wolt’s ‘’look’’ in the Norwegian market and helping restaurants introduce their food to a wider audience.

  • Being part of an ambitious team in a flat international organization. Things move fast in our office in the center of Oslo. We love to get things done, take ownership, and innovate, but we always make sure to have fun in the process!

  • Autonomy. We will give you trust and freedom - you are in charge of structuring your work to reach the goals.

  • Learning never ends. We grow fast in a fast-moving industry, which means there is always something new to learn and different opportunities to develop within the company.

About Wolt

Wolt is a technology company that makes it incredibly easy to discover and get the best restaurants, grocery stores and other local shops delivered to your home or office. Wolt works together with over 30,000 restaurant and retail partners as well as with over 60,000 courier partners across 23 countries and 129 cities.

Our apps (iOS and Android) have the industry’s highest reviews, largely because of our customer-centric approach to how we build our products and operations. For example, our customer service team responds in a matter of seconds, in the customer’s own language.

We’ve raised more than €707M in financing from renowned U.S. and European based investors, such as ICONIQ Capital, Tiger Global, DST, Prosus, KKR, Coatue, 83North, Goldman Sachs, Highland Europe and EQT Ventures & EQT Growth, among others. We've also been fortunate enough to receive some appreciation and recognition for our hard work along the way: Apple selected Wolt’s app as their Editors' Choice, Wired named the company one of the "Hottest Startups in Europe," Forbes included our CEO Miki Kuusi on its 30-under-30 in Consumer Tech list, and the Nordic Startup Awards named Wolt Company of the Year.

In 2020, the Financial Times named us Europe’s second fastest growing company. We’re still expanding rapidly and are looking for more talented individuals to join us. If you are passionate about cutting-edge technology, great food, and making an impact in your city, then Wolt just might be for you.
