Role Background

Wolt is a Finnish technology company founded in 2014 and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. Just 3 years ago, Wolt operated in 4 countries and 10 cities across the Nordics. Fast forward to today, we’re in 23 countries and over 180 cities across EMEA, servicing over 15M registered users - and we are just getting started.

Our People team is growing together with the rest of the organization. We’re now a team of altogether 100+ people mostly located in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Berlin, Tel-Aviv and Tokyo, and we’re looking for a Head of People Development to join our team in HQ Finland.

You’ll join Wolt during a period of continued hypergrowth. In the area of people development, we’ve set a solid  foundation for initiatives like Onboarding, Leadership and Training Development, Team performance and Engagement, we are now looking to develop these initiatives further and scale them up to match the needs of our growing organization.  
What you’ll be doing 

Above all, taking ownership of our People Development practices globally from strategic planning to being hands-on.

Strategic direction and stakeholders management

  • Work with stakeholders to understand critical business needs and bring your ideas to support them
  • In the area of People Development and Talent Management, lead the design, development and delivery of global initiatives ie, project, budget and vendor management 
  • Partner with HR Leads and People Partners in specific business areas and balance consistent People Development practices with local needs
  • Be the guardian of our “Woltness” at any level

Leadership and Learning development 

  • Manage our existing leadership and training programs from design, development delivery. Track progress and evaluate with our users where we can improve
  • Further develop our onboarding process in the midst of our continued hyper-growth, both in the areas of generic, Wolt-specific onboarding and role-specific onboarding
  • Lead the implementation of our new learning platform to scale and digitize our learning content
  • Lead the development of digital learning offerings like eLearnings, games, assessments.
  • Partner with the learning platform vendor, HR people and subject matter experts to ensure we keep a modern, best-in-class user experience but also consistency in our practices
  • Boosting our internal talent management practices including e.g. career pathing and internal talent rotation
  • Managing our Team Engagement & Satisfaction practices

Performance Management

  • Lead and manage the performance management framework globally and partner with HR Leads and People Development Leads for the execution and support
  • Own the global performance management process from communication, training and coaching of teams
  • Manage the tool and work closely with the vendor to ensure a smooth user experience
  • Coach and support teams in their continuous feedback practices

Specific initiatives
Depending on interest, there is also a lot of room to develop further early initiatives like Wellbeing, Diversity Equity and Inclusion but also take part in global events and other exciting projects in our People Team.

Our humble expectations

  • Previous experience in running and owning the area of people development and talent management in a global, multi-country environment. 
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing talent and performance management practices, designing and running learning and development initiatives with a strong focus on innovative solutions, talent and competency development programs, personal and career growth initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively conceptualize, communicate and implement initiatives and programs related to the area
  • Be passionate about digital learning. There is a lot of room to develop creative ideas. 
  • Well informed about contemporary research and overall “today’s practices” on people development and performance.
  • Experience from modern SaaS based talent management solutions and LXP considered a strong advantage. 
  • Ability to understand Wolt’s culture and values as the fundamental elements of Wolt growing as a successful business
  • Have a self-starter mindset and willingness to contribute to hands-on activities in a flat organization
  • Strong analytical and organisational abilities with sound attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate and proactively communicate clearly both verbally and in written form with various stakeholders in English.
  • Most importantly - be an active part of the Wolt’s People team! As a team, we do common things uncommonly well.
