On July 9 of this year, MAARMAAR’s debut solo track in the electronic music genre was released. “Villa Bali” differs sharply from the material created so far by Astro’n’out, and with it Māra invites everyone to keep experimenting in their artistic expressions. “After 20 years in music, it is easy to imagine that you already know a lot. But that is dangerous. It is so easy to miss the fact that music has changed a long time ago. But what about me? How have I changed after 20 years in music?” says Māra. This single reflects a search for new musical sensations, while lyrically it contemplates the eternal feeling of unfulfillment. In the lyrics, answers are sought in statistics, which is an indirect irony about finding every possible answer in ChatGPT, as if it could change the way we feel emotionally. The choice of the main melodic sample for the music was made by Māra’s daughter Ronja, so this has also unexpectedly become her first step in music.
