Cod skin, in addition to satisfying the need to chew, provides dogs with a number of valuable nutrients. Among them, the key role is played by: protein with an exceptionally valuable amino acid composition, mainly methionine and cysteine, and fatty acids from the n-3 family. The sum of protein and fatty acids primarily affects the functions of the heart and brain. Dried cod skin provides vitamins: D, B12, A and E and minerals such as iodine, phosphorus, potassium and sodium. As with other animal skins, cod skin contains collagen, a structural protein important for maintaining the elasticity of the skin, tendons and other connective tissue structures. Collagen present in cod skin is characterized by high digestibility. Thanks to the heat treatment process, i.e. drying at a low temperature, cod skin is a completely safe chew suitable for everyday use. The product does not contain preservatives or substances that improve taste and smell.
