Sicily, Italy / The ‘San Nicolo’ vineyard is roughly half-a-hectare, and was originally owned by Angelina Biondi, the great aunt of Ciro. The Rosso produced from ‘San Nicolo’ is 80% Nerello Mascalese-20% Nerello Cappuccio. The wines is aged for 18 months in mix of 225 and 500 L neutral barrels. On the nose, the San Nicolò offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a light mineral hint, a typical signature of the volcanic soil with aromas of tobacco and chocolate. On the palate, the wine reveals itself as structured yet balanced, with fine but persistent tannins perfectly intertwined with a lively freshness.
