Mosel, Germany / A high-quality sweet wine from the Riesling grapes of late harvest, which is grown in the vineyard "Bockstein", which is classified as Grosse Lage (equivalent to the Burgundy Grand Cru). The vineyard "Bockstein" is located in the lateral valley of the Saar and forms a natural amphitheater above the village of Ochfen. Weingut Dr. Fisher owns a 2.5 hectare plot in this vineyard. Terrain "Bockstein" is ideal: a steep slope, 40-year-old vines, whose roots go to the depth of the depths of 15 feet, south / south-west exposure. The soil consists mainly of solid, weathered, gravel gray shale.
Mature, healthy grapes for wine making are collected and taken by hand. The sugar level in it should be at least 75 ° Oechsle (18.2 Brix). After fermentation, the wine is aged for about 6 months on the sludge in stainless steel vats. The taste of wine has a salty-smoky mineral character. High acidity is well balanced with sweetness and exquisite fruit notes
