Italian pasta, penne type, from whole wheat durum wheat and dehydrated pumpkin and turmeric, simply combined with black pepper. "Penne" is the plural form of the Italian "penna" (meaning "feather" but also "pen"). When this shape was created, the intention was to imitate the nib of the then ubiquitous, sharp steel fountain and dip pens. Penne is traditionally cooked al dente and its shape makes it particularly suitable for sauces such as pesto, marinara or arabiata.
