To produce its Kriek, Boon Brewery uses its ancestral recipe. Kriek Boon is therefore a blend of young and old lambics, aged in oak barrels. Fresh cherries are added after six months. After the clarification and filtration stages, the beer is finally bottled for sale.
This Belgian beer is a pretty ruby colour topped with an attractive colourful head. The nose, powerfully and unashamedly evokes cherry aromas. On the palate, this same cherry flavour overwhelms the rest, magnified by a slight acidity. The finely tuned bitter finish adds a little more complexity to this beer.
