The Tetra GH Test is for you who want an easy and safe measurement of the general hardness of the water. For this product to be relevant to you, you are either the owner of a saltwater or freshwater aquarium, or you have a garden pond. The test provides a measure of the dissolved calcium and magnesium salts found in the water.
There must always be a content of magnesium and calcium in the water. These are salts that exist in the water in the same way that there are carbonates. The content of calcium and magnesium has a direct – proven – influence on the metabolism of fish, plants and microorganisms.
The purchase includes 1x 10 ml test product, 1 container that can measure up to 15 ml, an instruction manual and recommendations for use. You promote measurement accuracy by testing with 10 ml of water.
When you use the test, keep in mind that the general hardness of the water must be between 6-16 ˚dH for freshwater aquariums and garden ponds. The unit of measurement ˚dH stands for "degree Deutsche Härte" - i.e. a measure of overall water hardness. The same measurement unit is used to determine the hardness of the water that comes out of your own faucet.
If the general hardness in the total is too high, you can reduce it by adding rain, distilled or reverse osmosis water.
