Wolt, a local commerce platform -, has started a pilot program with the start-up company Port.- during the pilot, Warsaw couriers co-operating with Wolt will be able to use electric bicycles free of charge from the Port hub located in a car park next to the Centrum metro station, operated by APCOA, Europe’s leading car parking operator. The main aim of the programme is to promote sustainability while increasing the efficiency of order delivery to customers. Shifting to low emission vehicles is a natural evolution for Wolt. The platform, which connects local merchants with customers, is constantly looking for solutions that brings sustainability into the quick delivery equation, -. In February, the company took another step in this direction and launched a pilot program with pioneering e-mobility startup Port. The company provides fleets of light electric vehicles that are locked and charged in dedicated ports, installed in hubs across inner-city parkings, which are managed by APCOA Parking Polska. The vehicles are offered on a simple subscription in a full e-mobility package, which includes parking, charging, maintenance, and software. A courier can simply unlock an electric vehicle via an app, use it for deliveries and return it upon finishing work. The first e-hub in Poland is located in the APCOA parking garage at Warsaw’s Centrum metro station and allows couriers to cover the busy area of the Warsaw city center, no matter the district of their residence. Port offers vehicles that can cover up to 100 km on a single charge.

"Looking for new possibilities to improve the quality of the partnership for couriers who cooperate with us is of strategic importance to us, as it is an important element of building our competitive advantage. Above all, it's a factor that should enable couriers to increase their earnings Because they have access to efficient, modern, vehicles, they can fulfill more orders. -“Equally important for us is the fact that by enabling electric vehicles, we are reducing our negative impact on the environment, and thus implementing the sustainable development strategy we have adopted”
Kamil Suda, Founder and CEO of Port
“We are excited to partner with Wolt and APCOA. Our goal is to help the last-mile delivery sector both reduce emissions and increase operational efficiency through our unique technology and the e-hub model. Our first pilots have already proven that we can add significant value to last-mile delivery companies, couriers, and parking companies by offering the industry-first full e-mobility package on a simple subscription that includes not only vehicles, but also dedicated software, maintenance, parking and charging infrastructure. We are introducing our system in Warsaw after successful launches in London and Barcelona and we’re planning to expand it soon to other European cities.”
