Manos Markovitis who holds the reins of the eponymous winery carries heavy history on his shoulders, that of Chateau Pegasus one of the first wineries in Naoussa. Mark focuses on Xinomavro and the emergence of having solid foundations but putting his own stamp producing only this label style that oscillates between traditional and modern Naoussa. It places particular emphasis on land, leaving it to 'do' the job without many interventions utilizing family vineyard is certified organic vineyard since 1992, long before familiar with this concept.
The color is medium ruby red with several highlights. The nose is very complex but with remarkable finesse, starting all the varietal characteristics of Xinomavro from dried tomatoes, olives, cherry, strawberry, plum to lavender and sweet spices. In the mouth is relatively crowded with noticeable tannins but not unreachable and high acidity. The flavors found all the aromas of the nose, with spices to make stronger their presence and dense fruit causes us to drink wine even now, though surely time will help even more.
